Reading for Life - This is reading

Famous actors, musicians and other celebrities read aloud and show how reading is central to their lives. A very clever video!

Perhaps you could get together with a friend, and make a video like this yourself!
Who could you get to read for your video? What books would they read from? Now, there's a challenge!

Our Bookshelf on Shelfari

Your Librarians have a new bookshelf on Shelfari, where we can put the books we have read.

You can see the most recent books we've read on the Shelfari bookshelf in our blog sidebar.

Or you can look at ALL the books we have placed on our bookshelf by following the link in the blog sidebar. There will be a widening range of books appearing there, suitable for student readers of all levels, as well as for parents.

You can see ratings for books, and read brief book reviews by your Librarians or from other readers.

Shelfari is a great place to find ideas for the next book you could read. You might even want to create your own bookshelf there, but please check with your parents first, before doing this.

New! Delicious Bookmarks

No, we are not cooking up delicious bookmarks for you to eat!

But, we have been busy collecting and organising bookmarks to some fabulous websites for you, on a special website called delicious.

You can view our rapidly growing list of bookmarks on delicious, organised according to curriculum areas and tagged to help you find topics of interest and relevant to what you are learning about at school.

Try it out, have a browse - go to the website, type in a tag (keyword) and search for something you're learning about. You'll be amazed at the websites you'll find listed for educational use. There are also lots of links to fun online games to support literacy and numeracy education, for use in the classroom or at home.

Down the sidebar of this blog you will also see the newest bookmarks listed on delicious, to tempt you to look further.

We hope you find delicious to be useful, as well as fun!
